ABOUT THE COMPANY
The company Panství Bechyně was set up in 1993.
It came into being on the property of the former large estates of Bechyně and Opařany in Southern Bohemia, 120 km south of Prague.
This agricultural land, forests, fishponds and buildings were returned under the restitution laws in the early 1990's and today belong to the Vaduz (Lichtenstein) based company Panstvi Bechyne SE/ Herrschaft Bechyne SE, which is fully owned by Josef Stava.

Panstvi Bechyne SE's subsidiary company Panstvi Bechyne s.r.o., based in Bechyne (Czech Republic), manages the overall assets of 4982 ha of own forests, 500 ha of rented forests from surrounding local authorities, 282 ha of fishponds, the Bechyně castle complex, and other properties in the Bechyně area.
The company reinvests most of the proceeds from its forestry activities and timber sales into the maintenance and improvement of the forests, and also finances the renovation of the castle complex and other property.
In addition to these main activities, Panství Bechyně is also involved in activities promoting tourism. With this aim in mind, a golf course has been built, Hotel Panská on the main square in Bechyně has been reconstructed, and the castle has been opened to the public.
